Saturday, October 26 starting at 9:30 a.m. the Linux Day 2024 - South Tyrol will be held at the Istituto Salesiano Rainerum in Bozen/Bolzano. It’s an event that is celebrated nationwide in more than 40 cities with many live talks, parallel sessions and the chance to connect with enthusiasts, curious people, professionals and volunteers in every part of Italy!
The local organization is by the LUGBZ - Linux User Group Bozen-Bolzano-Bulsan, the FUSS Project and the Istituto Salesiano Rainerum with the kind support of PC-Doktor-BZ.
Current topics such as personal data protection (especially for minors under 18), personal identity on the Internet, careful choice of both software and hardware in different computing media, also in a social context of reuse and circular economy in mutual solidarity will be addressed; furthermore there will be further insights regarding technology in schools and at home, also in the context of the much mentioned - but unknown - artificial “intelligence” (i.e.: artificial neural networks).
After the lunch break, people can visit the institute’s robotics labs and participate in working tables to try to deal with these social situations together. At one of the tables, 6 PCs will be installed and given away to the participants that pass a simple test.
Registration is FREE but REQUIRED as the number of places is limited: https://fuss.bz.it/linuxday2024.
